They call it light
Sometimes as happy
But often trite
Or even sappy;
They think it's dumb
And very cheesy.
I've written some:
It's not that easy.
It has real meaning
So don't discount;
You could be gleaning
A fair amount
Don't say light verse
Like it's a curse.
