Keys

Unreasonable disappointments cause
The greatest inexplicable distress.
The very moments when you ought to pause
And ponder why you care so much will mess
You up the most. Why should you care? Who knows.
That's not the point - the point is that you do.
And since you shouldn't, as your sadness grows
You feel more guilty, and it seems to you
You should feel sad for feeling sad - and this
Attaches to the prior grief to make
The pointless disappointment larger. Miss
A major thing? That horror you can take.
But miss a minor, and it's everything
The very innocence creates its sting.
