Willfulness

My arm reached out and found that you were there,
Pulling you in to nestle close to me
My fingers curled around a lock of hair
Twisting it, but only lovingly
My shoulder dipped to let you cuddle in
And soften its sharp pointedness for you
My other hand reached out to stroke your skin
In hope that greater contact might renew
The comfort you had felt before. My knee
Reached out to yours, and pressed against your side
My eyes turned towards you and adoringly
Stayed close to what they saw and opened wide.
All these parts acted on their own, but still
Engaged their actions with my larger will.
