In Potentia

If you were with me now, what would I do?
I'd probably do nothing; I'm too scared.
Of course, that's something you already knew,
So you would wonder: what if I had dared?
If I had courage, and you were with me,
And if we two were totally alone,
What would I do? If I were fully free
To make the moment utterly my own,
And boldly face the possibilities?
I think I'd say I love you, and before
The shock of saying it wore off, I'd seize
That chance to tell you everything, and more
Not with my words, which are too meek and mild,
But with my actions, passionate and wild.
