Drinking

The dregs aren't always worse than what was drunk;
Indeed they but intensify the taste.
To let them be thrown out would be a waste,
For into them by gravity were sunk
The strongest anchors of what came before,
That kept the former liquid more or less
Infused with all its pleasure. If we press
That pleasure into one, it should be more
Intense than what preceded it, more pure
And if that purity itself offends
The senses, then perhaps offending lends
A little reason, asking "are you sure
You really wanted that?" And if you say
"I am," then do not throw those dregs away.
