As easy as it is to be with you
I cannot tell if it is good for me.
I often think, of course, that it should be,
But I'm not certain if that's really true.
I know, indeed, that I would want it to
Be how it is, but I can't really see
If it is so. It's obvious that we
Enjoy each other, and I'm glad we do,
But in a larger sense, I do not know
If this is good. I hope it is, of course,
And as I notice our affections grow
I feel the fear of an unjust divorce
Between us. It would have to be by force,
And yet perhaps it would be better so.
