Advisors

It's far too simple to ask what to do
Without investigating it myself.
The unasked part is whom to listen to
And whose advice to leave up on the shelf
Unread, unnoticed, totally ignored.
I ought to listen (though I often don't)
To whether my own thoughts with one accord
Suggest a path; since indecision won't
Allow that option, then I ought to ask
If those whom I demand my answers of
Know me, and know my problems or my task
As well as I do, if they truly love
The same things as myself. Instead I flail
And, asking the wrong questions, often fail.
