Present

When there's something that I want from you
I'm usually quite clear, at least by now;
I tell you what it is I want to do,
And let you choose whether you will allow
That thing to happen. But sometimes I'm weak,
It takes a stop or stutter to confess
I really just want you. That's all I seek.
Beneath the other things, if you undress
My wishes and desires, that is all
You'd find: bare, naked you, and not that way.
Sometimes I lack the mental strength to call
A spade a spade, by which I mean to say
I like the other things, but honestly
All I want is you, and you with me.
