It would have been enough to set us free
It would have been enough to bring us out
It would have been enough, as we can see,
To give to us Shabbat, without a doubt.
It would have been enough to sing hosanna
To save us from the Pharaoh's angry bands;
It would have been enough to give us manna
When we were starving in the desert sands
It would have been enough, O holy Lord
To grant us Torah, and with it the Law;
It would have been enough without the sword
To give us Israel through might and awe.
It would have been enough for us to serve
But God's great grace does more than we deserve.
