A mind reliant on itself alone
Will never seek to look beyond or find
The nutrients belief requires. No,
Such self-belief strangles all other thought
And will not let competing concepts grow
Within the self-conceits that it has wrought.
Believe then in yourself but not too much;
Do not believe beyond what you require
To think you matter, else you will not touch
The other souls around you nor acquire
The common core beliefs society
Requires of you for propriety.
