Calamity

The fires in me are well-banked and stilled;
What I desire I desire by choice.
If I have lust, then it is lust I willed;
My heart takes orders only from my voice.
The wants I have are orderly expressed;
My urges are constrained within my mind.
In aspirations I am self-possessed;
Indulgence takes an order counter-signed.
My very needs position as I choose;
Each thought is well-proportioned to its act.
Interior explosions I defuse;
My hopes are moderated and exact.
How then can you unravel me, and cause
This chaos where before were ordered laws?
